My AFV 1/72 collection part II; AEC Matador half-track, Einheitsdiesel, Mercedes truck, Leichter Schutzenpanzerwagen, Gaz AA with Flak, Matchbox Baja Buggy German ww2, Humber car conversion

AEC Matador halftrack; here I had one of those rare chances to do a conversion without spoiling kits; I had two old kits, with various missing parts, and while googling possibilities, I stumbled onto a impressive real wartime photo of this, a half tracked AEC Matador. Apparently, it was only a prototype, but I've stretched it to depict it reached the desert (one never knows!). The actual prototype depicts some more sturdier tracks, but it was tried onto a Chevrolet with Bren Gun tracks, so I figured that was good enough.

Einheitdiesel; German truck for WW2, a nice kit with metal axles. Photographed one day it snowed in Spain!

I saw this looking through eBay, and although it is 1:69 I thought it was pretty good to combine with 1/72 soldiers, besides I\'am practically sure it was impressed by the army being a model of 1932. It is a Matchbox model; http://pictures.todocoleccion.net/tc/2010/04/12/18687441.jpg

And I have repainted with a camo I found in another kit;

Leichter Schutzenpanzerwagen; or what is the same, a german armoured french military tractor  :-) . A fiddly little kit by Ace models.

Gaz AA with Flak; a nice set of a russian truck, with german flak, used by the Finnish  :P  in WW2.

Aufklärung Fahrzeug (Matchbox Baja Buggy conversion) 1/72; A military conversion, of a Matchbox toy car, into a menacing german armoured transport  :-) .

And finally, a similar conversion, a Suzuki toy car into a type of british liaison Humber car.

Azerbaijani Army 1/72 Airfix Modern Russians

These are some Airfix Modern Russians, painted as azerbaijani army. You can see more pictures in my review of the Ural truck; https://toysoldierchest.blogspot.com/2015/02/icm-172-ural-43203-command-vehicle.html

UH Desert Hawk 1/72 Italeri built model kit

This is a model kit I received as a present, from my great uncle (may he rest in peace), many many years ago. I left it half unfinished, as the fit wasn't very good, and wasn't sure how I was going to paint it. After about 15 years, my skills were good enough to finish it :) . And I made a good photo session on the beach.

Nubians Caesar Painted 1/72 25mm soldiers miniatures figures Nubia Kush

I managed to photograph some other soldiers this week :-) , and now I am only left to take pics of some Medieval Russians, of all the pre-gunpowder soldiers I have painted. As the theme is hardly suited for this hot conditions, I think I will leave those to take pictures much later or in studio :-) .

Anyway, lets get into details;

Browsing which figures I should paint, of my myriad of soldiers, a good few years ago, I chose the Nubians, as I had too many ancients in dark green, that made wargaming battles awkward, and so that they look more proper, as they are some of the soldiers that improves more when painted. The set is a bit on the boring side, and so I made a few modifications. My principal criticism is that the figures themselves, the faces don't look african, they look to me a bit semitic. In this respect, I prefer the Hat Nubians, at least for the faces.

Anyway, the main modifications was making a diplomat, as in some egyptian frescoes, and giving some weapons besides archers, as they had to battle with something when in close combat! far too many archers! and I tried to break a bit the uniformity, main issue with Caesars, reducing or adding feathers, etc.

Without further ado, the Nubians! in battle against Nuba peoples, which although very similar, must not confused with them :-) , depicting some of the battles in their southern frontiers, lost now to history. These are Airfix and Hat figures, which I will properly take pictures at some other time ;-) .
