DORA Railway cannon Trumpeter 1/72 huge WW2 gun largest in history

 With a bit of free holiday time, I thought, why not post the largest model kit I've been involved in the construction of? I really don't know why I didn't post it before. Mainly built by my father, a good more than 10 years ago, but my and my brother we did help in various parts, painting never ending grey bits, building and painting the figures, helping holding things to be glued together, and the myriad of doubts a kit of this size brings about.

After it's completion, we got two Dapol trams, and we converted them as best we could into the would be german electric locomotives. Sounds incredible but it was indeed just towed around by that, at least in short distances, like aiming, as it could not aim by any other way than building a round train section, and going round it :) . 

The later figures are slightly on the bigger side, which only shows the ridiculously gigantic proportions of this epic beast. The Thor is dwarfed to a ridiculous size at it's side!

It was even, fitted with air tube to realy shoot it's shells, but I can't remember if we did a video of it, so maybe for a later post. 

Crimean War Jägers (conversion) 1854 Sebastopol

I've been a long time away from the hobby, and here I return with a little 19th century project.

I had this Emhar Crimean War soldiers semi primed, which screamed to be properly cleaned up and made. And so, I searched for inspiration and I stumbled upon the Jagers from the Crimean War, that essentially wore the same uniform but with a different camo scheme. 

Then, I took the chance to make some changes, as they also had artillery figures and I had no cannon to go with them. Doing some fast head and weapon swaps I made to look more combative.

MiniArt ROMAN ARMY as Eastern Roman Rebels 1/72 25mm painted & converted figures

Here I show you this soldiers I've just finished, by printing their banner. I bought the MiniArt Roman Army, and decided that I had too many figures already in brownish-red, so they had to be painted.

After considering many possibilities, I finally went for painting them like Roman Rebels, a bit like the Total War games, in green. As if they were troops of some usurper in the Eastern Roman Empire, in Anatolia, ready to overthrow the Emperor itself!

I got a female figure from the Ancient Christians set of Strelets, and painted as a princess, a sort of Zenobia. As they had no general, I converted one of the infantrymen to do the purpose. 

All shields were painstakingly hand painted. Hope you like them.
